Hello lovely! Thank you for joining me. I’m so glad to be with you today.
My first topic will be on the Fruits of the Spirit. There are 9 of them, so bear with me.
Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT):
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
We receive these qualities because of the Holy Spirit working within our lives. Have you met someone who has all or a few of the characteristics? Do you notice how they light up the room and the people around them? The Lord has called us to model these characteristics and show them to the world. We are the salt and light of the world. Food tastes bland without salt, but with salt added, it adds a bit extra to our palate. So, should we surround others with a little extra love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control?
Every aspect in Galatians 5:22-23 contradicts the fleshly habits in verses 19-21. For, “When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.”
God blatantly tells us how to inherit the Kingdom. And that is with the Fruits of the Spirit and the Holy Spirit working within us. Think about all the ways above, such as jealousy, outbursts of anger, hostility, etc. Does it make you feel good when you do these things, truly?
My answer would be of course not.
The fleshly desires are within each of us, fighting to take us away from what is truly important- God. Even if you are not a believer, God loves you. He created you for a purpose. And only He knows what that purpose is. When you put your faith, love, and trust in Him, He does wonderful miracles in your life. He will point you in the direction that He wants you to go, He will give you the tools to get there, and He will fill you with the Holy Spirit to guide you.
Have you noticed that you are filled with peace when you focus on Him? Are you reading this now riddled with anxiety or do you have a profound sense of love, joy, and peace? -Hagrid’s head tilt-
Focusing on the Fruits of the Spirit gives us a peek into who God is. “The Lord is merciful and loving, slow to become angry and full of constant love. He does not keep on rebuking; He is not angry forever.” (Psalms 103: 8-9, GNT)
Do you know God, I mean REALLY know Him. Are you in a close tight-knit relationship with Him? Do you make him your #1 priority in your life? Or do you feel as I did in the beginning before I knew of Him- like everything bad happened to me and nothing will get better, there is no rhyme or reason to the obstacles that I faced? I’m here to tell you again that God loves you. With a passion so deep that we cannot fathom.
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” (Ephesians 3:18-19)
So, take a moment, and think, do you model any or all the Fruits of the Spirit? How do you feel when you act them out and apply them to your life? Good, I hope. If you are not a believer, and you got to the end of this post, I ask you, what is stopping you from knowing God for who He is and not what you think of Him to be?
Thank you for reading and God Bless you.
Love, Kelley
