Community of the Like-Minded

Hello lovely! Thank you for joining me. I’m so glad to be with you today.

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”

2 Corinthians 6:14

You may be thinking that what kind of Christians are not to be with non-believers? This is not the case for this verse, instead it is stressing the importance of being in fellowship with like-minded people. It directs our attention to other believers so that we do not lose ourselves and our Godly way of doing things. If you believe that Christians should not be around or exposed to non-believers, you are wrong. They are the focus of our life. Just how an extroverted person recharges their batteries by being around others, and an introverted person recharges their batteries by being alone; so too do Christians recharge their batteries by being with other Christians so that they may give unto others. You cannot fill from an empty cup.

“Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!

Romans 12:16 (NLT)

This verse stresses the vitality of being harmonious and peace makers with the people we surround ourselves with. It also instructs us to be humble and not to think we are superior to others.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Galatians 6:2

We are to lean on on another and depend on others for support and unity. One person who takes on a burden is much worse than if each person carries some of its weight. Be there for others and prop up each other in unification. It makes us better and makes the people we interact with better too. Praying for others is important too. Prayer is a powerful concept- whether it be praying alone or in a group. However, when a multitude of people pray over the same thing, it is beyond potent.

So, enjoy the community of believers around you, feed into them the love and hope and faith that you have so that you may all share it with non- believers. Fill your cup so you can bless others.

Thank you for reading and God Bless you.

Love, Kelley
