Shinning a Light on Your Faults- For Good.

Hello lovely! Thank you for joining me. I’m so glad to be with you today.

I want to talk about something a little bit deeper for this post. I want to bring up how God uses our faults and flaws for good. However, He will also remind you of your past failures, not to throw them in your face, but as a reminder to move away from them and turn to Him instead.

“The Lord upholds all who fall; and lifts up all who are bowed down.”

Psalm 145:14 (NIV)

When we fail and turn away from our failures, it pleases God. It brings Him honor and glory when we bow before Him and admit that we have made a mistake. Sometimes our failures make us feel like we are at our lowest low and nothing we can do can bring us back up… but let me tell you something- God can. He will pick you up and place you higher than you ever could on your own.

“persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

2 Corinthians 4:9 (NIV)

We might be persecuted for our wrong-doings, but God will never leave us. Our mistakes cannot destroy us- it may come close- but we will survive through our trials. God gives us the reminder of our past mistakes, flaws and faults so that we may do better the next time.

“for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.”

Proverbs 24:16 (NIV)

Perseverance and faith are both required to move past our faults. God shines a light on our faults and mistakes to help us remember that we can learn from our past sin. If God created us to forget out failures, then we would never feel the remorse. If we never felt remorse, then we would never turn away from our mistakes and mishaps.

So, then, what does it mean to have these failures? It is our way to do better, be better and act better than the situation before. We might mess up or fall 7 times, but as long as we get back up- that is all that counts. With faith, God knows that you will try to improve yourself and your actions the next time around. It’s like a kid who acts poorly. No child wants to be in trouble, to disappoint a parent or to behave in an unacceptable way. Yet, they do. And just like we have faith in God, He has hope for us that we will come through for ourselves and for Him in doing good.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone…”

Galatians 6:9-10 (ESV)

We sow what we reap. Would you rather sow a life of happiness, progress and self- improvement, or that of disappointment, failure and misery. Hopefully, everyone would choose the former. How has God helped you to overcome what you’ve been through? I promise you, He has been there every step of the way- every mistake, every step back, every failure we have done… He has been walking beside you.

So, what now? Use your mistakes to help propel you forward, to improve yourself and better yourself in more ways than you can imagine. You just need to have FAITH. Faith in all the mistakes you have made in life because God already knew you were going to make them. He knew long before you were born. But He wants to teach you something, some life lesson to help you succeed in life. And you will get there, with His help and a little perseverance, hope and compassion. Compassion for yourself, knowing that even though you have made mistakes, your mistakes do not make you.

Allow your faults, flaws, failures and mistakes to come up to the surface. That is the only way to improve them by first acknowledging what they are and to no longer allow them to have a hold on your life. God can turn any bad or unfortunate thing into something for good. Just have faith.

Thank you for reading and God Bless you.

Love, Kelley
