Testing Faith by Tribulations

Hello lovely! Thank you for joining me. I’m so glad to be with you today.

We all have troubles, issues and obstacles that we face in life. We might feel as if everything is falling apart or we have some loss of self, but God has a plan for you. He wants your undivided love and attention. Through all of the struggles and tribulations- He wants you to reach out to Him.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

When we are in the midst of our trials, we should pray and focus on God. Not just those 2 things, but also to listen to Him. It takes a lot of practice on hearing God and the Holy Spirit- but it is definitely doable.

We might be puzzled why the Lord is allowing certain things to happen to us. However, we make it through each and every trial we face. At the time, we do not think we can survive through it, but we do. God gives us the strength needed to fight through our tribulations- whether we believe we can make it or not. He will fill your spirit with happiness, patience, grace and mercy if we allow Him to.

“Give your burdens to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”

Psalm 55:22 (NLT)

Do you only ask God for help when you are struggling? Many Christians do. Although, we should be asking ourselves- do we ask for help in good times and in bad? God has amazing grace for us because He truly loves us. When we only go to Him and lean on Him when we are in bad situations, we become accustomed to using God. That is not what He intended for us. He created us to have a deep relationship with Him through everything. If He fixed all of our problems and changed our unfortunate circumstances immediately, then we would not feel the need to have a relationship with Him. We would be solely dependent on Him only to do something for us. That is not what He wants for our relationship with Him.

A teacher does not ask hard questions because they need to know the answers, but because the student needs to learn them.

“Likewise, God ordains tests for us, not for his sake, but for ours… God tests us to reveal our spiritual condition…  Christ is the perfect teacher, and he can be trusted to prepare and carry us through the crisis. If, like the disciples, we fail the test, we can also trust Christ to handle the storm, bringing us through by his grace to the other side.”

Open the Bible- Three Tests God Ordains for His People

If we think of tribulations and trials as tests then we gain a better understanding of why we are put through them. We are often tested to make sure we do not fall into the same patterns of sin that we are use to. This would include (but not limit):

  • Gossip
  • Complaining
  • Laziness
  • Lust
  • Pride
  • Anger
  • Selfishness
  • and other sins

God allows these struggles to teach us something, some important lesson. He is never happy about the pain that we are faced with, but He does allow it for your greater good. He tests our faith one struggle at a time. Therefore, the next obstacle you face, I challenge you to understand that it is used to teach you something spiritually. Allow your faith in the Lord rule over you and not let your tribulations to win your inner war.

Thank you for reading and God Bless you.

Love, Kelley
