Hello lovely! Thank you for joining me. I’m so glad to be with you today.
Let’s talk about speaking life to others. The next quote is from one of my favorite songs, Speak Life by Toby Mac.
“So speak life, speak life
To the deadest darkest night
Speak life, speak life
When the sun won’t shine and you don’t know why
Look into the eyes of the broken hearted
Watch them come alive as soon as you speak hope
You speak love, you speakYou speak life”
…
Lift your head a little higher
Speak Life- Toby Mac
Spread the love like fire
Hope will fall like rain
When you speak life with the words you say
Raise your thoughts a little higher
Use your words to inspire
Joy will fall like rain when you speak life with the things you say
Our words can either help or harm others. Our voice is capable of hurting someone or building someone up.
The tongue can bring death or life;
Proverbs 18:21 (NLT)
those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
We are asked to speak life into all people, whether we think they are worthy or not. Other than just speaking kind words and using a caring tone; we can also pray for others and let them know that we have done so.
Prayer is a powerful thing; our prayers can often help speak life into someone when they are unaware of it. Think of it as a silent speaking of life.
Another way to speak life into someone is to be encouraging, supportive, empathetic and validate what they are saying and feeling. If your best friend was going through a hard time, what would you say to them to boost them up? Therefore, we should talk to others as if they were our best friend. Try it and see what happens. A smile? A warm hug? Or comfort in knowing that you helped to encourage someone makes all the difference.
Praising and acknowledging others helps to breathe life into someone too. Encouragement in any form is a wonderful way to build and deepen relationships. My hope is that you read this post and contemplate whether you speak life unto others or speak harshly. God knows your heart, but how you say things and the way you personify yourself matters too.
Thank you for reading and God Bless you.
Love, Kelley
