Grace

Hello lovely! Thank you for joining me. I’m so glad to be with you today.

Let’s talk about having grace with others.

Grace is being gentle and merciful to others even when they do not deserve it. It’s the people who cut you off in the middle of the day, the spouse that is angry and has an outburst, the kiddo that throws a fit… but grace is understanding that the person who cut you off was probably having a bad day, the spouse was just hurt at what you said, and the kiddo was just feeling misunderstood. Grace is the most vital component of life that we can have and muster.

We are saved by grace and should therefore give grace to others. We are strong-willed and it takes a lot to have grace for others because sometimes it is just down right tough. We can do it, though. We just have to be mindful and present.

“God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. 21 So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 5:20–21 (NLT)

We can combat sin with grace. You cannot fight fire with fire and 2 wrongs don’t make a right. When we do that it does nothing other than upset us and others. Having grace, on the other hand, takes much greater discipline.

“And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

James 4:6 (NLT)

Believing that someone does not deserve grace is pride. It is thinking that you are better or more superior than someone else. Pride is a sin. It is one of the most underrated sins, because often times, people do not realize they hold so much pride. It is hurtful, hurts others and yourself. So instead, be humble and have grace and mercy. Because God has given us grace and mercy and therefore our salvation.

Showing grace toward others is having the benefit of the doubt. Believing that someone did not harm you intentionally but by accident. Giving grace fills us with deep and everlasting happiness. Just try it and see if it makes your heart sing.

Grace is forgiveness. It is letting go of the pain and the hurt that someone has caused you. Once you ask for forgiveness, God automatically forgives you for your sins. He puts it in the past, never to be thought of again.

“God takes our sins – the past, present and future and dumps them in to the sea and puts up a sign that says, NO FISHING ALLOWED.”

Corrie Ten Boom

God fills us with His grace every day. So, I challenge you to give grace to others today.

Thank you for reading and God Bless you.

Love, Kelley
